DEMHIST Board Elections 2026
In 2026, DEMHIST is holding elections to choose a new Board. Following the 4 month application period, we are happy to introduce the 17 candidates for the upcoming DEMHIST board elections.
– 11th September: Publication of the candidate list, as per ICOM elections guidelines, at least one month prior voting. Download all the portfolios here.
Upcoming events:
– “Meet the candidates” open webinar: save the date for Thursday, 8th of October, 4 pm CEST. Link to join the session. No registration needed.
– Online voting process, as per ICOM elections guidelines, 4-7 days. The voting* will be open 13 October 9am CEST and will close 17 October 10pm CEST. Link to vote. We kindly request members vote as soon as possible to streamline the verification process.
– Announcement of the elections results: during the DEMHIST General Assembly on 28th October.
* Only DEMHIST members in good standing for 2026 will have the right to vote during the elections: ICOM individual members with DEMHIST as their first International Commitee, or ICOM institutional members designated representatives for DEMHIST. During the voting process, individual members can upload their scanned ICOM cards to help the secretary verify their eligibility to vote.

Call for Candidates
To stand as a candidate, you must be a DEMHIST member in good standing (both individual members and institutional members designated representatives are suitable)

The nomination period will be open from 4 May to 4 September 2026, in accordance with the ICOM election guidelines.
To help potential candidates better understand the role, we have prepared an informative document explaining the work of the DEMHIST Board, which is carried out on a voluntary basis.
Application Requirements
Candidates are asked to submit:
- A completed application form, saved as pdf.
- A short CV
- A photograph
- Letters of recommendation (optional)
- A copy of their ICOM membership card with the 2026 sticker (optional)
