Open Talks 2026

Here at DEMHIST, itself a House Museum network, we understand that it is by collaborating rather than operating in isolation that house museums expand their capacity to attract diverse audiences. Joint marketing initiatives, shared events, and cross‐institution programming help visitors see our house museums not as isolated sites, but as connected experiences that collectively tell richer stories.

Join us as we celebrate and explore the world of networks and associations in the world of Historic House Museums. We will have presentations by representatives of some of the largest international house museum networks, along with open discussions about the DEMHIST networks as well – their early days, where they are now, and what the future holds for them. In the sessions you will get to know other networks, other points of view; hear reflections on the collaborative project International House Museums Days; the importance of DEMHIST national groups, local, and national house museum networks… and more!!

Full programme will be posted around 12th April.
